Commentary Team: Michael Cole, Renee Young & Cory Graves

The show opens with the roster on the stage for a moment of silence and a ten bell salute in memory of the victims of the recent shootings in Texas and Ohio.

Samoa Joe accosts the commentary desk and criticizes them for blaming him for the Roman Reigns scaffolding incident. Corey Graves tries to talk some sense into him but Joe ain’t having it, and Michael Cole says a poll says it was no accident, to which Samoa says according to a poll he just conducted, the WWE Universe are idiots, and he demands that they roll the footage from last week.

Joe points out that he’s not in the footage despite them having more cameras than a dystopian state, and says he’s gonna stay here tonight until Roman Reigns shows up, and then he’s gonna shut the show down until he gets the apology he deserves, and if anybody’s got a problem with th–

Becky Lynch is interviewed backstage.

She says she hopes Neidhart has an advantage in Canada and she should bring her whole family so she can disappoint them, too. She says she fought and won for all of her prominence and she’s not walking around like a good girl hoping not to be fired, and while she was changing this business, Natalya was changing her bikini on reality TV. She’s the one thing Nattie’s career is missing, and she’s going to give her people a new hero, herself.

Natalya is interviewed elsewhere backstage.

She talks about how she’s going to tap Becky Lynch out and she won’t tap even if her arm is broken, and the Sharpshooter tonight is just a taste of how she’s going to end Becky’s career

Brock Lesnar makes his entrance, flanked by Paul Heyman as always.

Heyman gets on the mic and introduces himself like always and says that Lesnar wants him to educate us by way of a few questions. Wasn’t Seth Rollins supposed to be the Beast Slayer, the Conqueror’s Conqueror, the one man that had Brock Lesnar’s number, the Architect of the Arson that would burn down Suplex City, the big hero for the new generation of the WWE Universe, Seth freakin’ Rollins?

The answer lies in a piece of footage that Paul E runs, footage that happens to be of Brock absolutely brutalizing Rollins with the repeated F-5s onto the back of the chair last week.

Heyman says he dropped to his knees last week and begged Lesnar to show mercy on Seth, because he knew in his heart that what WWE needs is a new hero, and then tonight after the beating that Rollins suffered, that the Architect is here in Pittsburgh tonight. He says this proves that Seth has more balls than brains–

Enter Seth Rollins.

He hobbles out, chair in hand, climbing awkwardly into the ring and getting his ribs kicked in again. Brock whacks him with the chair, rams him back first into the turnbuckles and continues to beat on him in a desultory and humiliating manner then a F-5 as we cut to commerical

We see referees tending to Rollins as he sits up and begs off from treatment.

Seth grabs a microphone and says it’s gotten to the point where he has to ask himself if all this is worth it.

He says you love something so much you’d do anything to keep it safe even if that thing keeps you getting beat to a pulp inside and out, week after week, and for him, the answer is yes. This is all he is, every second of every day, all he’s ever wanted, and all he’s got. He’ll be at SummerSlam, and he’ll beat Brock Lesnar. He guarantees it.

He leaves the ring and again refuses medical treatment.

Backstage, Kurt Angle is interviewed ahead of his turn as special guest referee for Cedric Alexander vs. Drew McIntyre later tonight.

He’s immediately interrupted by the Street Profits, who introduce themselves and ask Angle for some help getting a drink, pulling two red cups out of a cooler and a carton of milk. Kurt says he promised his wife he wouldn’t do anything crazy and begs off, at which point Montez Ford asks if he’s Kurt Angle, or Mike Kanellis. Angle relents and does some milk with the boys and the camera pans to reveal Drew McIntyre.

He says he’s got a friendly reminder for Kurt about what happened last time they were in the ring together, and demands that he call it straight down the middle tonight before talking excitedly about how he humiliated Angle

Samoa Joe is talking to a crew member, who confirms that Roman Reigns is in the arena. Joe tells him to tell everyone that the show is shut down and walks to the ring

Samoa Joe makes his entrance.

He calls Roman Reigns out and says he knows about Island Time but this is ridiculous, and since he’s near he has a chance to come down, get in the ring, and apologize to him. He lets it lie a beat before saying fine, he’ll play it Roman’s way and throwing a chair into the ring. He unfold it and takes a seat, saying Raw is officially shut down until Reigns walks down here and apologizes in person.

In fact, he’s gonna give him until the count of three. One… two… three. He tells Roman all he has to do is walk down that aisle… unless he’s scared to. He says he’s got all day and he’ll keep us here all night and accuses the Big Dog of being too much of a coward to come down and apologize. A “CM Punk!” chant breaks out and Joe goes and talks to a tech to confirm that Roman is here.

He says he’s a little impatient, so if Roman’s in the parking lot he’s gonna go greet his ass.

The camera follows Joe into a loading dock and outside into the parking lot as he calls Reigns out. A car pulls up and he reiterates that he’s been waiting all night. Roman gets out of the car and they bicker a moment– BEFORE ANOTHER CAR BLINDSIDES ROMAN’S CAR AS WE CUT TO COMMERCIAL

Miz does his usual intro schtick to welcome us to MizTV.

He introduces the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels, as a sort of special guest enforcer to make sure Dolph Ziggler doesn’t run away from this contract signing, and then introduces Dolph himself.

Ziggler gets on the mic and says he’d rather be a pariah than one of these two ass-kissers, and he’s been stealing shows and carrying the company on his back for the last decade and he’s the best thing to happen to wrestling since HBK lost his smile. So you wanna talk about legends with him, he’s the only one here, and if Miz thinks for one second he can beat him at SummerSlam, well, good luck.

And when he wins at SummerSlam, he’ll finally get the adulation he deserves as a living, breathing legend. Miz fires back, saying it’s gotta be on Dolph if he’s still not where he wants to be, and he can’t wait to get hands on Ziggler next Monday night on Raw. He says Dolph looks a little confused, well, he didn’t read the fine print, and the guy Ziggler’s wrestling may not have many SummerSlam moments left.

The contract isn’t Ziggler vs. Miz, no, it’s Ziggler vs. someone else… Dolph and HBK square up and Shawn gets on the mic. He says it’s not him, either, and Ziggler looks confused as “Goldberg!” chants go up…

He enters the ring and signs the contract before getting on the mic… ZIGGLER IS NEXT!

Dolph heads up the ramp, but is blasted by Sweet Chin Music as Shawn delivers a receipt from a few weeks back as the show ends
